What is Wilkestock?
Wilkestock began its life as an outdoor party for a few friends in 2007 by brothers Tom and Olly Wilkes. Having grown by word-of-mouth due to the great success of the event, it's got a bit bigger since those days, but retained a home-grown ethos and commitment to championing new and local artists. Last year attracted just over 800 people to the fields of Watton, Hertfordshire and this year a much higher attendance is expected. At Wilkestock 2011 the line up is even bigger than ever and the festival has extended to two action packed nights due to popular demand and lots of acts wanting to get involved.
Wilkestock has now evolved into a crazy two night event with over 42 unbroken hours of live music and DJ sets from two stages starting at 11am and going onto the very small hours. Camping and parking is free but festivals goers are encouraged to arrive early to pitch tents and last admittance is strictly 9.30pm .
This year the site is made up of two stages, the Main Stage which once again showcases the best local talent and up and coming bands. The new addition to Wilkestock last year was the Mutual Party Stage which pumps the very best drum and bass and dub-step way through the night and is back this year with even more DJ’s to keep you partying to the small hours.
There are places to buy mouthwatering food on site from the local Young Farmers Union and a fully stocked, reasonably priced licensed bar which is supplied by the Stonehouse Bar in Hertford which for this year the bar has been turned into a huge ski lodge style bar with make shift ski lift! To emphasise the Wilkestock fun factor there are lots of crazy things on the day to see and take part in such as an onsite cinema, dance tent, chill out DJ/band and teepee area, huge ski lodge style bar, food and vintage stalls.
Wilkestock is fiercely independent - no sponsorship deals here, in fact the festival is run on a non-profit basis. It will be a great night, please feel free to bring yourself, friends of friends and any one who is up for a good party for a great cause, all ages welcome!
Wilkestock is about much more than just the music and they’re keen to support two charities close to the brothers heart. All profit made from Wilkestock 2011 like all other years will be going to the charities below.

Keswick Mountain Rescue
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team comprises 45 members, all unpaid volunteers, who are available at all times of the day and night, 365 days per year, to assist those in distress and lost on the mountains of the Lake District.
Typically they attend about 130 callouts each year.
There is an enormous amount of 'unseen' work which goes on behind the scenes. Training takes place every week and equipment is checked and maintained constantly so that they are always in a state of readiness to leave at a moment's notice for the next job.
